Will British passport holders need a visa for Europe?
Currently, as at September 2020, as a UK passport holder, you don’t need a visa if you want to visit a country within the EU. However, after the Brexit transition period which ends in January 2021, you should still be able to travel to a country in the EU without a visa, as long as it is for a short trip.
At the moment, the UK and the EU are in negotiations to come to a reciprocal visa agreement whereby they allow free movement between the EU and the UK. If this agreement is approved, it would mean that EU and UK citizens would be allowed to travel for business, tourism or study in the other’s country. This is still to be confirmed, though.
